Eyelash Pulling: 7 Ways To Stop Pulling Out Your Eyelashes

Maybe you've just started pulling out your eyelashes. Or maybe you've been doing it for some time. Maybe your eyelash pulling isn't something you do on purpose - it's just "that thing" you do likely without paying any attention to it.

Regardless of the reason you're pulling out your eyelashes, don't panic. It's probably not your fault. You can almost certainly cut down your eyelash pulling or even quit altogether with these easy tips.

1. Notice when you pull at your eyelashes.

There is a very high probability that your eyelash onslaught is triggered by some "thing" or some "one". When you find yourself getting the urge to pluck your eyebrows, take a second to work out what caused your reaction. Then consciously change what you do when your own personal eyelash trigger is pulled.

2. Do something different.

Once you've noticed when your hands instinctively head towards your eyelashes, you can start to change what you do. If you have a 100% success at this, congratulations, you're superhuman! Don't worry if you don't catch yourself every time. Just work on catching yourself more frequently, Choose something to do instead, otherwise your hands will get bored. If you're feeling keen, slip a rubber band around your wrist and flick it every time you get the urge to pull out your eyelashes. Or scratch your ear. Whatever works for you.

3. Give yourself eyelashes that are difficult to grip!

Obviously you won't actually be coating your eyelashes like a non-stick pan. But a coating of Vaseline will work nicely. Then when you next begin to grab at your eyelashes, you won't get as much grip and will at the very least cut down your eyelash extraction.

4. Occupy your hands in other ways.

There's a high chance that your hands are simply showing their boredom. And need something to do! Find something to keep your hands occupied more often.

5. Reduce your boredom.

Think back to when you pull on your eyelashes. Is it when you're fully occupied? Or, as is more likely, is it when you're bored? Stave off your boredom and keep yourself occupied more of the time. You'll likely reduce your eyelash pulling as a result.

6. Chill!

Relaxation is something we've "unlearned" as we've got more sophisticated. Take the time to learn how to relax again. Check out meditation. Or maybe yoga. Or play your favorite CD and allow yourself to get totally engrossed in the music (teenagers pull this trick all the time, even if their choice in music isn't necessarily relaxing to you or me).

7. Hypnotize yourself.

You can purchase a cheap hypnosis MP3 that will help you get right to the bottom of your eyelash pulling problem. Listening to the track will help you to quit this irritating habit with almost no effort. Check out a hypnosis for eyelash pulling track here.
